It costs nothing to get started with ACQUITTAL. We'll set you up with a free two-week trial. And because you're going to love ACQUITTAL, you'll happy to learn that it's not expensive to keep going, either.
There are two ways to buy a license for ACQUITTAL and get to work: the easy DIY plan, which gives you total control but involves doing a little work yourself, and the even easier . LUDIFY ("Let Us Do It For You") plan, which is pretty self-explanatory once you get past the acronym. Choose wisely.
You'll also want FileMaker Go on your iPhone and/or iPad, but those are free through the App Store.
Even on Plan B ("Let Us Do It For You") you'll be installing FileMaker Pro and FileMaker Go yourself, since that requires direct access to your computer. But we'll send you easy links and we'll take care of all the arrangements.
If you wish to host ACQUITTAL on your own machine running FileMaker Server, you can do so. This option makes the most sense for firms with >5 users. If you use a third-party hosting service, on the DIY plan, you'll pay for the hosting and be responsible for installing your own updates and upgrades to Acquittal. After the first year, there will be ongoing annual fees for hosting. Due to anticipated changes in FileMaker's hosting technology, the cost of future hosting as of May 2016 is hard to predict.
After your first year there may be a charge for Acquittal updates and upgrades.
So what's it really cost?
There are multiple factors affecting price (number of users for example) but we are trying our best to make this easier than figuring out your cellular service plan!
FileMaker Pro and hosting may cost extra (see below) but even so, average monthly cost for everything can be as low at $120 in the first year. In the second year, this average cost will be cut by a third, and in the third year, almost in half. Why? Because with ACQUITTAL, you're buying a license — not "leasing" a service forever. Once you've paid your licensing fee in full, you're finished paying for ACQUITTAL.
Licensing is to single law firm. Licensing costs provided above assume a single payment in full. Prefer to take six months or a year to pay? Yes, we can arrange that for a small additional fee. Licensees in Texas will pay Texas state sales tax (8.25%) on ACQUITTAL and (if needed) FileMaker Pro. Hosting may be tax-free.
There are some simple options regarding FileMaker Pro and hosting service that it's easier to explain on the phone or by email, so contact us for the full picture. We will make everything as close to drop-dead simple for you as possible — and we'll cut your costs while doing so.
